Special Orders

The Diocese of Trenton requires all class parents, volunteers, and class trip chaperones to complete the requirements of Child Protection which include:

  • Attend VIRTUS training – either in person or online

    • Must be renewed every 4th year

  • Criminal Background Evaluation via fingerprint scan at IdentoGO – must schedule an appointment to have completed through your VIRTUS account. Click the “Background Checks” tile to schedule.

    • Must recertify training every 4th year

  • Electronically sign a Code of Conduct – located within your VIRTUS account

  • Diocesan issued ID card must be worn at any event that you are a scheduled volunteer for that event

    • ID cards need not be worn if you are only attending an event

This training makes participants aware of the signs of child sexual abuse, the methods and means by which offenders commit abuse, and five easy steps one can use to prevent child sexual abuse. The facilitators incorporate policies and procedures into the training defining child sexual abuse, addressing the reporting of child sexual abuse, the screening and selection of employees and volunteers, and victim advocacy. The VIRTUS programs empower organizations and people to better control risk and improve the lives of all those who interact with the Church.

Login OR Create new VIRTUS account.

Your VIRTUS account is the one place to accomplish all the above tasks for either existing accounts or initial registration.

Once logged in, your VIRTUS account indicates by what needs to be done by the color of the tiles on the HOME page – if a tile is RED, then an action item is required and you must click on that tile to accomplish that task.

The Contributor case # that should be used by all is TRE004. This is required for all IdentoGo appointments when scheduling.

Once your clearance has been completed and the Office of Child and Youth Protection has verified your VIRTUS training, we will send your Diocesan ID card and results to the school.

You are not permitted to volunteer at any event until you have received your Diocesan ID card.
