About Us:
St. Rose Grammar School is a three-story, fully air-conditioned brick building located only blocks from the beautiful beaches of Belmar. The school is equipped with energy-saving lighting and provides a chemically free atmosphere with EPA approval.
The administrative offices and health room are located near the main entrance.
There are eighteen spacious classrooms with a library located on the third
floor. The school shares cafeteria facilities with St. Rose High School, which
is located across the street.
The children have recess on a blacktop playing area and a beautiful and peaceful quiet garden area. The St. Rose Annex is within walking distance and provides space for art classes and additional activities. The town of Belmar provides facilities for our physical education classes, in the municipal building.
Adjacent to the school is the parish Church of St. Rose.
St. Rose provides self-contained and departmentalized heterogeneous classroom instruction. Methods are implemented which meet the individual needs and interests of the students. We are committed to Christian values, individual initiative, and high academic standards. St. Rose provides opportunity and experience to help students develop their unique God-given talents and gifts for individual, communal, and global awareness.
St. Rose Grammar School is within the Diocese of Trenton. The Bishop delegates his authority to the Superintendent of Catholic Schools who is responsible for the entire Diocesan school system. The Office of Catholic Education (O.C.E.) and its advisory boards expedite educational concerns for the Bishop and Superintendent.
The pastor of St. Rose Parish and the school principal are directly responsible for administrative decisions. An advisory council confers with the principal. The vice-principal, teachers and support staff are under the authority of the principal.
Mission Statement:
The Nature of the School’s Purpose
The religious, intellectual, personal and physical development of the child is an ongoing process while initiated in the home, is nurtured and refined at St. Rose Grammar School. Our school exists in order to provide the children with the experience of a faith community.
Here the fundamental precepts of faith are presented and students guided to live a life centered on Jesus Christ and His Gospel. Our school strives to create an atmosphere permeated with the Gospel spirit of love and freedom in which every student develops a search for knowledge that is a part of a lifetime process. As a Catholic educational facility we encourage each student to reach the fulfillment of his/her unique capabilities.
We see the acquisition of knowledge as a call to serve and to be responsible for others. Our goal is to build a faith community of growing individuals, questing for knowledge, deepened in faith and committed to the service of humankind.
